Forbes Road Career & Technology Center (CTC) provides high-quality career and technical education to high school students in grades 10-12 and adult learners in the eastern Pittsburgh region.
 
Forbes Road CTC prepares students for employment and further education by offering diverse learning experiences that foster professional skills, personal growth, and community engagement. Programs are designed to help students gain certifications and hands-on training needed to succeed in today's competitive job market. 
 
Several school districts east of Pittsburgh including Allegheny Valley, East Allegheny, Franklin Regional, Gateway, Highlands, Penn Hills, Plum Borough, Riverview, Wilkinsburg, and Woodland Hills partner with Forbes Road CTC. Students from partnering districts can attend on a half-day basis.

Advertising Design
This program prepares students for careers in commercial art and graphic design. Students develop skills in various forms of production, including illustration, computer graphics, and photography. Students will work with state-of-the-art equipment such as digital printers, laser engravers, vinyl cutters, and embroidery machines to bring their creative visions to life.
 
 
Building Construction Technology
This program is ideal for those who enjoy problem-solving and physical work. Students in this program will receive hands-on training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, and blueprint reading. They develop the technical skills necessary for residential and commercial building maintenance and repair. 
 
 
Computer Networking & Security
This program prepares students for careers in IT, cybersecurity, and network administration. Students learn to design, maintain, and secure networks while earning industry-recognized certifications such as A+, Network+, and Security+. 
 
 
Criminal Justice/Political Science
This program trains students in law enforcement fundamentals, including patrol and investigative procedures, evidence management, crime prevention, and public safety. Students will gain the skills necessary for careers in policing, security, and criminal justice. 
 
Diesel Technology
Diesel technology powers industries such as transportation, construction, and manufacturing. Students will train in repairing and servicing diesel-powered equipment, with hands-on experience working on school-owned vehicles. Graduates can pursue careers as diesel mechanics or obtain state safety inspection licenses. 
 
 
Early Childhood Education
Aspiring educators in the Early Childhood Education program gain practical experience in local daycare centers while studying child development, nutrition, and teaching techniques. Students engage in hands-on activities that help young children develop essential skills in math, science, music, and art, preparing them for careers in early education and childcare management.
 
 
Electrical Technology
This program prepares students for careers in electrical and electronic fields. Training covers residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems, including AC/DC motors and electrical distribution panels. Students can earn industry certifications, including OSHA 10-Hour Certification and Residential Construction Academy Certifications. 
 
 
HVAC
Students in this program receive training in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, gaining hands-on experience in installation and maintenance. This program also provides career development support to help students find employment in the HVAC industry. 
 
 
Landscape Design
This program teaches students landscaping principles, plant identification, budgeting, and cultivation techniques. Students gain skills for careers in nurseries, greenhouses, and landscaping businesses. 
 
 
Logistics & Supply Chain
In this program, students learn about product receiving, storage, and distribution using industry-standard technology. Students will gain hands-on experience in Forbes Road CTC's Distribution Center, preparing students for careers in logistics and materials management.  
 
 
Multimedia Design
This program offers training in digital design, animation, video production, and web development. Students will use industry-standard software and complete digital portfolios showing their best work. Potential career paths include multimedia production, digital marketing, and content creation. 
 
 
Veterinary Sciences
Students in this program learn to assist veterinarians with examinations, treatment administration, and animal care. This program provides foundation knowledge for those pursing careers as veterinary assistants or continuing education in animal sciences.
