Board Meetings
The Board recognizes the value of school governance of public comment on educational issues and the importance of involving public members in Board meetings. The Board also recognizes its responsibility for proper governance of the district and the need to conduct its business in an orderly and efficient manner.
The Board requires that public participants be residents or taxpayers of this district or: anyone representing a group in the community or school district; any representative of a firm eligible to bid on materials or services solicited by the Board; any district employee; or any district student.
To provide an opportunity for all citizens who wish to address the Board and establish an orderly routine, the presiding officer will call first upon those individuals who have indicated before the meeting that they want to speak concerning an item on the agenda. Those persons will be contacted in the order in which their requests were made.
Anyone from the audience who wishes to address the Board on any agenda item may be called upon. The initial presentation will be limited to three (3) minutes in all cases.
