A Message from the School Board

The Wilkinsburg School Board stands united in support of our superintendent, Dr. Joe Maluchnik. We are fortunate to have a leader who is committed to advocating for our students and families, many of whom navigate the challenges of limited resources. We respect diverging viewpoints and will not hesitate to tackle issues that affect the district’s core mission and values.

In these uncertain times, when many in our community are grappling with concerns about the future of public education, we are committed to addressing these fears with diligence and transparency. We remain steadfast in our belief that education is the cornerstone of opportunity, and we will continue to work with state legislators and other partners to ensure our district remains a pillar of strength for our students and families.

We are acutely aware of the disturbing trend of attacks against public school officials across the country—individuals who work tirelessly to provide stability and calm during a time of great upheaval. Such actions are deeply disheartening, but they will not deter us from our mission.

At the Wilkinsburg School District, our priority is clear: every child, every day, matters. We are here to serve, uplift, and empower our students, and we will not waver in that responsibility.
